Baseball Recap: Meadowcreek Snaps Seven-Game Streak of Losses at Home

Meadowcreek hadn't done well against Berkmar recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Mustangs blew past the Patriots 16-0. For the Mustangs, this counts as revenge for the 11-8 victory the Patriots walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.

Dylan Piner made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over four innings pitched. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in February. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He has become a key player for Meadowcreek: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 0-16 otherwise.

In other batting news, Meadowcreek got a massive performance out of Aaron Hollis, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those four runs gave Hollis a new career-high. Christian Escobar was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Meadowcreek always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .636. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meadowcreek's win ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-17. As for Berkmar, they dropped their record down to 0-19 with the loss, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Meadowcreek will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Patriots: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
