Preview: Vacaville Christian Falcons vs. San Juan Spartans

The Vacaville Christian Falcons will head out on the road to take on the San Juan Spartans at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither of these teams found much success offensively their last time out, scoring well below their season average.

Last Friday, Vacaville Christian lost to Highlands at home by a decisive 36-22 margin. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Vacaville Christian in their matchups with Highlands: they've now lost nine in a row.

Despite the loss, Vacaville Christian had strong showings from Danielle Ruff, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 14 rebounds, and Macy Graves, who scored three points along with eight rebounds. Ruff has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played.

Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to San Juan, who are still winless after their 12th contest. They were beaten by Rio Vista 52-20 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss San Juan has suffered against Rio Vista since February 5, 2018.

Vacaville Christian's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for San Juan, their defeat was their seventh straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-12.

Vacaville Christian was able to grind out a solid win over San Juan when the teams last played back in January of 2023, winning 27-14. The rematch might be a little tougher for Vacaville Christian since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
