Softball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Riverdale Ridge's Ninth in Last 12 Outings

While Riverdale Ridge put up some runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Boulder. The Ravens were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Panthers. Considering the Ravens have won 14 contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Riverdale Ridge got a great performance from Brooklyn Herschberger as she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Herschberger has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Jaeanna Sandoval was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. What's more, she posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in October of 2024. Another player making a difference was Peyton Saenz, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.

Riverdale Ridge always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .621. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matchups.

Riverdale Ridge is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Boulder, they are on a 22-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-20.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Riverdale Ridge will host Westminster at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Boulder, they will be playing at home against Fort Lupton at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
