Soccer Game Preview: Fitzgerald vs. Crisp County

The Fitzgerald Purple Hurricane will face off against the Crisp County Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Fitzgerald took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. Everything went their way against Brantley County as Fitzgerald made off with a 10-1 win. The Purple Hurricane might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by five goals or more this season.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Friday Crisp County sidestepped Pierce County for a 2-1 victory. The win was all the more spectacular given the Cougars' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 168th, while the Bears are ranked 15th).

Fitzgerald has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. Crisp County's victory bumped their record up to 6-4.

Fitzgerald skirted past Crisp County 3-2 when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Does Fitzgerald have another victory up their sleeve, or will Crisp County turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
