Soccer Recap: Statesboro Takes a Loss

Statesboro fought the good fight in their overtime game against South Effingham on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the South Effingham Mustangs by a score of 3-2. The Blue Devils were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2022.

This is the second loss in a row for Statesboro and nudges their season record down to 2-4. As for South Effingham, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-2.

Coincidentally, Statesboro and South Effingham will both be playing Glynn Academy the next time they take the pitch. Statesboro will host Glynn Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while South Effingham will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on March 4th.
