Basketball Game Preview: Vista Murrieta Broncos vs. Temecula Valley Golden Bears

Vista Murrieta is 10-0 against Temecula Valley since January of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Vista Murrieta Broncos will challenge the Temecula Valley Golden Bears at 5:30 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Vista Murrieta saw some tournament action on Monday. They walked away with a 53-40 win over Fontana. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Broncos.

Vista Murrieta's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Shajade Banks, who posted eight points in addition to nine boards and five steals. Banks has been hot recently, having posted four or more steals the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Aniah Green, who put up 14 points and three steals.

Vista Murrieta smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in three consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Temecula Valley posted their biggest victory since November 27, 2024 on Monday. They ended the year with a bang, routing Aquinas 55-29. The Golden Bears have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Vista Murrieta's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-9. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.7 points per game. As for Temecula Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 12-5.
