Basketball Recap: Central Skates Past Northeast with Ease

There's no place like home for Central, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. They really took it to the Northeast Vikings for the full four quarters, racking up a 48-21 win. Given the Lancers' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 262nd, while the Vikings are ranked 535th), the result on Wednesday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading Central to victory were Sofia Meer and Stevie Hall. Meer dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 rebounds, while Hall went 6 for 14 en route to 16 points. The contest was Hall's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Janai Bellinger, who posted four points and eight boards.

Central is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a massive bump to their 8-9 record this season. As for Northeast, they dropped their record down to 2-11 with the loss, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.

Central wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 62-12 victory against Mastery Charter North - Pickett on the 27th. Northeast has also already played their next contest, a 51-13 defeat against Frankford on the 23rd.
