Basketball Recap: South East Comes Up Short

South East and Van Nuys squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but South East had to settle for second. They were beaten by the Van Nuys Wolves 56-14. Having soared to a lofty 59 points in the game before, the Jaguars couldn't push the score so high this time.

Van Nuys' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Karen Grewal, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 11 boards. The matchup was Grewal's third in a row with at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Maria Ortega, who posted 15 points and eight steals.

South East's defeat dropped their record down to 11-13. As for Van Nuys, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.

South East does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Van Nuys, they have already played their next contest, a 50-32 win against Marquez on the 21st.
