Soccer Game Preview: Destiny Christian Academy vs. Rio Linda

The Destiny Christian Academy Lions will look to take advantage of their home pitch for the first time this season as they take on the Rio Linda Knights at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Destiny Christian Academy's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

It was a proper cat-fight when Destiny Christian Academy took on Florin two weeks ago. The two teams finished up on equal footing with a 0-0 draw. The result (or lack thereof) marked the Lions' first draw of the season.

Meanwhile, Rio Linda was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were one goals away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of Gustine. Vanessa Huerta was hit with a yellow card, which may have had some impact on her (and the team's) ability to make aggressive plays.

With that draw, Destiny Christian Academy's record moves to 0-2-1. As for Rio Linda, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6-1.
