Soccer Game Preview: Mater Dei Catholic vs. Bonita Vista

The Mater Dei Catholic Crusaders will head out on the road to square off against the Bonita Vista Barons at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Thursday, Mater Dei Catholic earned a 3-1 win over Olympian. Given the Crusaders' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 169th, while the Eagles are ranked 380th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Alessia Villalpando and Lani Magana scored all three of Mater Dei Catholic's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 15 goals.

Meanwhile, Bonita Vista won against Classical Academy on Tuesday with three goals and they decided to stick to that goal total again on Thursday. Bonita Vista walked away with a 3-1 victory over Otay Ranch. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Barons.

Bonita Vista's win bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Mater Dei Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 8-4-2.
