Soccer Recap: Lake View Takes a Loss

If Lake View was riding high fresh off their 6-1 takedown of Agricultural Science on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. While the 2-2 score might suggest a draw, it was the Marist RedHawks who were credited with the victory on Saturday. The Marist RedHawks got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to the Lake View Wildcats' three. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Lake View came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 107th, while Marist are ranked 293rd).

Lake View's loss dropped their record down to 10-4. As for Marist, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lake View will head out to take on Chicago Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Marist, they will venture away from home to face off against Joliet Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
