Basketball Recap: Vintage Comes Up Short

Vintage played a tough game on Wednesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by the American Canyon Wolves and fell 68-22. The Crushers haven't had much luck with the Wolves recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.

Sydney Morton was Vintage's leading scorer, having posted eight points. Caelyn Diskin held things down on the boards with eight rebounds.

Jordan Woodson was her usual excellent self, going 9 of 14 en route to 20 points for American Canyon. Tyra Fleming was another key player, putting up nine points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Vintage's defeat dropped their record down to 8-16. As for American Canyon, their victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Vintage has already played their next matchup (against Casa Grande), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. American Canyon will square off against Justin-Siena at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Justin-Siena knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine contests -- so hopefully American Canyon likes a good challenge.
