Softball Recap: Taft Comes Up Short

Taft blew Odem out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Friday Odem got their revenge. The Greyhounds fell just short of the Owls by a score of 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Greyhounds have suffered since March 9th.

This is the second loss in a row for Taft and nudges their season record down to 7-15. As for Odem, their victory ended an eight-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-19.

Looking ahead, Taft will venture away from home to face off against Mathis at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Greyhounds' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Pirates have averaged an impressive 9.8 runs per game this season. As for Odem, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against George West at 6:00 p.m. The Longhorns have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed nine runs per game on average), something the Owls will no doubt try to take advantage of.
