The crowd at Friday's league bout between the Odem Owls (Odem, TX) and the host Taft Greyhounds (Taft, TX), observed Odem's softball team get by Taft by a tally of 7-5.

The Owls (11-19) will now prepare for their bout against George West (George West, TX). The Longhorns go into the 3A Region IV District 29 bout with a 12-15 record. In their last bout, George West by West Oso (Corpus Christi, TX), 15-4, in a league bout.

In their next game, the Greyhounds battle the Mathis Pirates (Mathis, TX) in a 3A Region IV District 29 bout, on Tuesday, April 14. Taft will attempt to advance on its 7-15 season record. The Pirates go into the bout with a 14-9 record after their 11-8 league win over Aransas Pass (Aransas Pass, TX).
