Football Recap: Escalante Starts Season with Loss at Home + How To Watch

Escalante unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a 30-12 bruising from the Tatum Coyotes on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lobos of the 46-30 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Escalante lost, don't look at Braylon Emery. Despite the final result, he rushed for 80 yards on only 11 carries, and also threw for 48 yards and one TD while completing 75% of his passes.

Coming up, Escalante is headed away from home for the first time to take on Gateway Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Tatum, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Ramah at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
