Recap: Pajaro Valley Grizzlies vs. Notre Dame Spirits

While it was all tied up 17-17 at halftime, the Pajaro Valley Grizzlies were not quite the Notre Dame Spirits's equal in the second half on Wednesday. The contest between the pair wasn't particularly close, with Pajaro Valley falling 47-28. They were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Notre Dame apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.

Notre Dame was led to victory by Aveena Ducusin and Francesca Rossi. Ducusin scored 16 points along with five steals, while Rossi scored 17 points along with six steals. Ducusin is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 13 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Clarissa Medeiros, who scored six points along with two steals.

Pajaro Valley's defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-12. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 24.4 points per game. As for Notre Dame, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pajaro Valley will take on Gonzales at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Gonzales is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak. As for Notre Dame, they will head out on the road to square off against King City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
