Baseball Recap: East Ascension Wins Going Away Against Ruston

While East Ascension put up some runs on Saturday, the same can't be said for Ruston. The East Ascension Spartans blew past the Ruston Bearcats 10-0. The result was nothing new for the Spartans, who have now won six matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

East Ascension got a great performance from Kamden Snowden as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. What's more, Snowden gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had over his last five games.

On the hitting side, Hudson Browning was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Reed Truax, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

East Ascension has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. Ruston's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 6-5.

Coming up, East Ascension will welcome Ascension Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Ruston, they will take on Archbishop Shaw in a tournament on Saturday.
