Softball Recap: Rocky Ford Finds Home Field Redemption Against Weld Central

There's no place like home for Rocky Ford, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They walked away with a 13-9 win over the Weld Central Rebels on Saturday. For the Meloneers, this counts as revenge for the 15-5 victory the Rebels walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2022.

Alysia Marquez made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over six innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Annesyiah Camacho was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Tay'Lor Archuleta, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Rocky Ford was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .448. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .304 or higher in three consecutive matches.
