Baseball Recap: Camden County Picks Up Fifth Straight Win at Home

Camden County won the last time they faced First Coast and things went their way on Friday too. The Camden County Wildcats sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the First Coast Buccaneers. That's two games straight that the Wildcats have won by just one run.

Camden County got a great performance from Johnathan Brown as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Caden Napier, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI. Darrell Hough also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Camden County pushed their record up to 2-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.2 runs over those games. As for First Coast, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Looking ahead, Camden County will welcome Effingham County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last four games Camden County has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for First Coast, they will square off against Liberty County at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
