Softball Recap: Saturday's Win Is Westview's Sixth in Last Seven Outings

Westview won the last time they faced Papillion-LaVista South and things went their way on Saturday too. The Wolverines' pitcher stepped up to hand the Titans a 4-0 shutout.

Alea Wegner made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Emma Miller, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Adrianna Moore also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Westview hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in seven consecutive contests.

Westview has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. As for Papillion-LaVista South, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season.

Westview wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 6-3 defeat against Elkhorn South on the 6th. As for Papillion-LaVista South, they have also already played their next match, a 12-0 win against Wayne on the 6th.
