La Jolla Country Day had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They breezed past the Santiago Sharks to the tune of 54-19 on Monday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Torreys also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead La Jolla Country Day to victory, but perhaps none more so than Atlanta Bass-Sulpizio, who went 8-for-10 to rack up 18 points and five rebounds. That's the most points Bass-Sulpizio has posted since back in December of 2024. Safiyah Sugapong was another key player, putting up 11 points and three steals.

La Jolla Country Day smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in four consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Santiago is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
