Baseball Recap: Addison Trail Find Success

Addison Trail won the last time they faced Leyden and things went their way on Thursday too. The Blazers walked away with a 6-3 victory over the Eagles.

Aaron Pastewski made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched seven innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Addison Trail's success: when he posts at least three RBI the team is undefeated (and 7-14 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Robert Morales was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

The win got Addison Trail back to even at 14-14. As for Leyden, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 13 of their last 16 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-22 record this season.

Addison Trail will have a chance to go back-to-back against Leyden: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
