Soccer Game Preview: Pekin vs. Limestone

The Pekin Dragons are taking a road trip to challenge the Limestone Rockets at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Pekin had to skate by with only a one-goal margin when they last took the pitch, which might have inspired the eight-goal drubbing they dealt Olympia on Thursday. The Dragons' defense stepped up to hand the Spartans an 8-0 shutout. The win continues a trend for Pekin in their matchups with Olympia: they've now won six in a row.

Meanwhile, Limestone hadn't done well against Richwoods recently (they were 0-7-1 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Rockets blew past the Knights 3-0. Limestone might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by three goals or more this season.

Pekin's victory bumped their record up to 4-14. As for Limestone, their win bumped their record up to 11-5-2.

Pekin might still be hurting after the 6-0 loss they got from Limestone in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Can the Dragons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
