Softball Recap: Jones Beats Bridge Creek for Their Second Straight Victory

While Jones's win against Bridge Creek wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Longhorns' pitchers stepped up to hand the Bobcats a 2-0 shutout on Thursday. That's more bragging rights for the Longhorns, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The victory made it two in a row for Jones and bumps their season record up to 5-8. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.5 runs across that stretch. As for Bridge Creek, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-13.

Jones wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, an 8-2 loss against McLoud on the 4th. As for Bridge Creek, they have also already played their next game, a 3-2 win against Amber-Pocasset on the 4th.
