Basketball Recap: Mohawk Area Takes a Loss

Mohawk Area played a tough match on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 56-30 to the Hopewell Vikings. The Warriors just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row.

Hopewell was led to victory by Maya Richburg and Caylee Sundy. Richburg went 5 for 7 on her way to 15 points along with six boards and four steals, while Sundy posted 15 points and seven rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Richburg a new career-high in blocks (two). Another player making a difference was Avery Boyd, who earned 11 points and three steals.

Mohawk Area's loss dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Hopewell, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-13.

As of now, neither Mohawk Area nor Hopewell have any future games scheduled.
