Volleyball Game Preview: Hartford Hurricanes vs. Missisquoi Valley Thunderbirds + How To Watch

The Hartford Hurricanes will face off against the Missisquoi Valley Thunderbirds at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Hartford is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Vermont's top teams: Middlebury, who was ranked third at the time (Hartford was ranked seventh). The Hurricanes fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 3-2 on Saturday. The Hurricanes' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Hartford took Middlebury into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 25-20, 25-20, 22-25, 16-14.

Meanwhile, Missisquoi Valley came up short against Colchester on Monday, falling 3-0. The Thunderbirds haven't had much luck with the Lakers recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

The final score came out to 25-13, 25-6, 25-19.

Hartford's defeat dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Missisquoi Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 0-9.

Hartford took their win against Missisquoi Valley in their previous matchup back in September of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. Will the Hurricanes repeat their success, or do the Thunderbirds have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
