Baseball Recap: Lithonia Comes Up Short

Lithonia had lost five straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped down to 5-10 to make it six. They came up short against the Druid Hills Red Devils, falling 17-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Red Devils this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-0 on Wednesday.

Lithonia saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Messiah Gregory, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one double.

As for Druid Hills, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-8. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

On Druid Hills' side, Oliver Myers was a standout: he got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave Myers a new career-high. Tobias Bell was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Lithonia has already played their next contest, a 17-0 loss against North Springs on the 20th. As for Druid Hills, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 9-1 victory against Southwest DeKalb on the 20th.
