Soccer Recap: Dougherty Comes Up Short

After flying high against Monroe on Thursday, Dougherty came back down to earth. Dougherty came up short against Peach County on Friday, falling 5-2. The contest was a close 2-1 at the break, but unfortunately for Dougherty it sure didn't stay that way.

Dougherty's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Peach County, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dougherty will face off against Bainbridge at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Dougherty has given up an average of 4.1 goals per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week. As for Peach County, they will square off against Westover at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Peach County is facing Westover at the right time seeing as Westover is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
