Softball Game Preview: Jackson County Panthers vs. Winder-Barrow Bulldoggs

The Jackson County Panthers will challenge the Winder-Barrow Bulldoggs at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Jackson County is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.

The home team had come away the winner the last five times Jackson County and Apalachee had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Panthers came out on top against the Wildcats by a score of 4-1 on Monday. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won three in a row.

Adalyn Mitchell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jackson County let Reese Wilson and Alyssa Peurifoy run wild. Wilson went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, while Peurifoy went 3-for-4 with three RBI. Those three hits gave Peurifoy a new career-high. Miabella Lee was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Winder-Barrow got the win against Alcovy on Tuesday by a conclusive 15-4.

Jackson County's victory bumped their record up to 13-4. As for Winder-Barrow, their win bumped their record up to 8-9.

Jackson County took their victory against Winder-Barrow in their previous meeting on September 4th by a conclusive 11-1 score. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldoggs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
