Basketball Recap: West Charlotte Comes Up Short

West Charlotte was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 69-61 to the Mallard Creek Mavericks. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Mavericks this season, with their most recent defeat being a 58-54 loss back in January.

Mallard Creek's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lajalin Overton led the charge by dropping a double-double with 17 points and ten rebounds. Mallard Creek is 5-2 when Overton posts ten or more boards, but 8-10 otherwise. Ahmad Savage was another key player, putting up 17 points and five rebounds.

West Charlotte's defeat dropped their record down to 10-14. As for Mallard Creek, they now have a winning record of 13-12.

As of now, neither West Charlotte nor Mallard Creek have any future games scheduled.
