Basketball Recap: Kloe Kist's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Trinity over Weed

Trinity easily dispatched Fall River on Tuesday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Trinity Wolves fell just short of the Weed Cougars by a score of 56-53 on Wednesday. The Wolves were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cougars earlier this season, when they won 40-33.

Trinity's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kloe Kist, who posted 20 points and three steals. Kist's afternoon made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Braelynn Nugent, who almost dropped a double-double with ten points and nine rebounds.

Trinity's defeat dropped their record down to 20-7. As for Weed, their win was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 21-6.

Trinity didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 61-27 victory against Etna on the 14th. As for Weed, they have also already played their next contest, a 50-18 win against Mt. Shasta on the 14th.
