Basketball Game Preview: Highland Hawks vs. Higley Knights

The Highland Hawks will challenge the Higley Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Higley took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Highland, who comes in off a win.

Highland is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Queen Creek: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Highland blew Queen Creek out of the water with a 54-23 final score. The Hawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 24 points or more this season.

Highland found their leader in sophomore Bailey Williams, who went 7 of 14 en route to 20 points. That's the most points Williams has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Jacobsen, who posted 12 points and eight rebounds.

Highland smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Higley suffered their biggest loss since February 22, 2024 on Wednesday. They lost 70-49 to Campo Verde. The Knights haven't had much luck with the Coyotes recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Highland now has a winning record of 12-11. As for Higley, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-9.
