Soccer Game Preview: Rome vs. New Manchester

The Rome Wolves will head out to take on the New Manchester Jaguar at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Rome has six straight wins, New Manchester has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

Rome is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over Lithia Springs on Tuesday. Given Rome's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 39th, while Lithia Springs are ranked 330th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for New Manchester's offense. They lost 4-0 to Kennesaw Mountain on Tuesday.

Rome's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-2. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 16 goals over those three games. As for New Manchester, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7.
