Basketball Recap: Line Mountain Drops Highest Score of Season Against Tri-Valley

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Line Mountain). They blew past the Tri-Valley Bulldogs, posting a 61-33 victory. The Eagles have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bulldogs, too.

When it comes to explaining why Tri-Valley lost on Saturday, don't look at Avery Miller. Despite the final result, she went 8 for 20 on her way to 26 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. Miller has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Faith Artz, who posted three points in addition to nine boards and four blocks.

The win was the third in a row for Line Mountain, bringing their record for this year to 9-9. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.7 points per game. As for Tri-Valley, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-15 record this season.

When Line Mountain and Tri-Valley next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Line Mountain will face off against Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy and their eight-game winning streak at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Similarly, Tri-Valley will try to stop Mahanoy Area's three-game winning streak when the meet at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
