Softball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Wilber-Clatonia's Seventh in Last Eight Outings

Wilber-Clatonia posted their closest victory since September 13th on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Milford Eagles 3-2. This was a revenge game for the Wolverines: when they faced off against the Eagles last Saturday, they had to take a 7-5 loss.

Kariss Rosenthal spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on two hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Wilber-Clatonia saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gabby Vlcan, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI. Vlcan is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games she's played.

Wilber-Clatonia is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-11 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games. As for Milford, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-15.

As of now, neither Wilber-Clatonia nor the Eagles have any future games scheduled.
