Football Recap: Fountain Valley Comes Up Short

Fountain Valley had lost seven straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Thursday they dropped down to 1-5 to make it eight. They took a blow against the Orange Panthers, falling 52-14. The Barons lost against the Panthers in their previous head to head back in October of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 21-14 score last time.

As for Orange, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Orange found their leader in sophomore Star Thomas, who threw for 313 yards and six TDs while completing 77.4% of his passes, and also rushed for 61 yards on only seven carries. Those six passing touchdowns set a new season-high mark for Thomas. Orange's leading receiver Dylan Stone was Thomas' top target yet again, picking up 88 receiving yards and three touchdowns.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Fountain Valley is set to face off against their familiar foe Laguna Beach at 7:00 p.m. on the 10th. Meanwhile, Orange will take on rival Dana Hills at 7:00 p.m. on the 10th.
