Baseball Game Preview: Westover Wolverines vs. Douglas Byrd Eagles

Westover hasn't had much luck against Douglas Byrd recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Wolverines will face off against the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

South View hit Westover with a 11-run fourth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Wolverines lost 17-0 to the Tigers.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Douglas Byrd faced off against Seventy-First on Friday. The Eagles came up short against the Falcons, falling 17-0. The loss continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Falcons: they've now lost seven in a row.

Douglas Byrd's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Westover, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Everything went Westover's way against Douglas Byrd when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Westover made off with a 13-2 win. Do the Wolverines have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
