Recap: Foothill Mustangs vs. Center Cougars
The Foothill Mustangs lost against the Center Cougars last Monday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Foothill was outmatched by Center on the road and fell 57-20. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Foothill in their matchups with Center: they've now lost eight in a row.
Despite the loss, Foothill still got an impressive performance from Zeniah Thompson, who scored 12 points. Thompson scored a full 60% of Foothill's points, the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Center got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Madison Shirley Boudreaux out in front who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds. The match was Shirley Boudreaux's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Reniaya Applin, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Foothill has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season. As for Center, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-7.
Foothill and Gridley will face off at 6:30 p.m. on December 30th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Gridley is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak. Center won't have much time to rest: their next match is against El Camino at 5:00 p.m. on December 30th. That game will pit two of the most dominant players against one another: Noelle Potratz and Miessah Sagun.
