Soccer Game Preview: Denver vs. Aplington-Parkersburg

The Denver Cyclones will head out on the road to square off against the Aplington-Parkersburg Falcons at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Denver's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Denver and Decorah-North Winneshiek had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Cyclones took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Vikings on Thursday.

Meanwhile, after soaring to seven goals the game before, Aplington-Parkersburg was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They lost 7-1 to Webster City.

Denver's loss dropped their record down to 8-11-3. As for Aplington-Parkersburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-3-1.

Denver couldn't quite get it done against Aplington-Parkersburg when the teams last played last Monday as they fell 3-1. Can the Cyclones avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
