Recap: Leigh Longhorns vs. King's Academy Knights
The Leigh Longhorns were the 69-42 winner over the King's Academy Knights when they last played one another back in December of 2018, but their luck changed this time around. Leigh fell just short of King's Academy by a score of 33-31. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Leigh has scored all season.
When it comes to explaining why Leigh lost on Saturday, one person who can't be blamed is Emily Chen. Despite the final result, she scored 12 points along with five rebounds. Those five rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Abigail White, who scored seven points.
Even though they lost, Leigh were working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Leigh's loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 6-6. As for King's Academy, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Leigh will take on Silver Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Silver Creek is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. King's Academy and Harker will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Harker is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.
