Baseball Recap: Calhoun Takes a Loss

Calhoun fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Tug Valley on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 4-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 back in April.

Calhoun saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Josiah Wilson, who went 2-for-5 with three stolen bases and one run. Wilson has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Garrett Carpenter also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Calhoun dropped their record down to 3-24 with the loss, which was their seventh straight on the road. As for Tug Valley, they now have a winning record of 18-17.

Calhoun does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Tug Valley, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 9-6 defeat against Man on the 22nd.
