Softball Game Preview: South Harrison Bulldogs vs. Penney Hornets

The South Harrison Bulldogs will head out on the road to challenge the Penney Hornets at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Penney took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on South Harrison, who comes in off a win.

South Harrison came out on top against Putnam County on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run sixth inning. The Bulldogs narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Midgets 5-3. The win continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Midgets: they've now won four in a row.

Meanwhile, Penney fell victim to Mid-Buchanan and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Dragons, falling 17-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Hornets in their meetings with the Dragons: they've now lost five in a row.

South Harrison's victory bumped their record up to 12-6. As for Penney, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.

South Harrison beat Penney 4-1 in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
