Baseball Recap: Kennett Eagles vs. Coe-Brown Academy Bears
Kennett was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Coe-Brown Academy Bears. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bears apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2025.
Guillermo Chavarria Burns spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Kennett saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Blake Royer, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
Kennett's record is now 6-13. As for Coe-Brown Academy, their win ended an eight-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-10.
