Recap: San Pedro Pirates vs. Banning Pilots
The San Pedro Pirates entered their tilt with the Banning Pilots with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. San Pedro strolled past Banning with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 51-33. That result was just more of the same for these two, as San Pedro also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.
San Pedro was led to victory by Noelani Raigans and Shalia Coleman. Raigans scored 13 points along with three steals, while Coleman scored 18 points along with two steals. Raigans is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Maia Wooldridge was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
San Pedro is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 contests, which provided a massive bump to their 11-8 record this season. As for Banning, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. San Pedro will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Rolling Hills Prep at 5:30 p.m. on January 22nd. As for Banning, they will square off against Rancho Dominguez at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
