Basketball Game Preview: Laytonville Warriors vs. Anderson Valley Panthers

Laytonville is 0-10 against Anderson Valley since February of 2022 but things could change on Tuesday. The Laytonville Warriors will venture away from home to challenge the Anderson Valley Panthers at 5:30 p.m.

Last Friday, Laytonville lost to Round Valley at home by a 57-40 margin. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1136th, while the Mustangs are ranked 475th).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Anderson Valley). They breezed by Potter Valley to the tune of 63-23 on Friday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Panthers with their most commanding win of the season.

Anderson Valley's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 8-8. As for Laytonville, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-11.

Laytonville lost to Anderson Valley on the road by a decisive 47-31 margin in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Can Laytonville avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
