Football Recap: Robertson Cardinals vs. Pojoaque Valley Elks/Elkettes
Robertson fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Pojoaque Valley on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They were just a hair shy of victory and fell 32-31 to the Elks/Elkettes. The defensive woes were uncharacteristic for the Cardinals, who until this matchup were averaging 9.86 points allowed.
Robertson's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Andres Sanchez, who gained 148 total yards and two touchdowns, and Nathan Gonzales, who rushed for 89 yards and one touchdown. Elijah Ortiz got in on the action too, returning a kick for a touchdown.

Pojoaque Valley's leading receiver Joaquin Baca was Gonzales' top target yet again, picking up 162 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Robertson moved to 5-2 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Pojoaque Valley, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
