Volleyball Recap: West Ranch's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Friday

West Ranch faced Torrey Pines in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Wildcats took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Falcons. Considering the last time the Wildcats couldn't score was back in August, the team can't take the result too hard.

West Ranch's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Alexandra Seres, who had eight digs and two aces, and Dani Clewis, who hit 83.3% for five kills and six digs, three aces, and one block. Clewis has been hot for a while, having also posted 15 or more assists the last 40 times she's played.

With the loss, West Ranch broke their 12-match winning streak and moved their record to 17-4. As for Torrey Pines, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 24-4.

West Ranch didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Foothill on the 11th. As for Torrey Pines, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Coronado on the 10th.
