Softball Recap: Douglas County Comes Up Short

Lakewood hit Douglas County with a six-run third inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Huskies came up short against the Tigers, falling 16-2. If the Huskies were looking for revenge after losing 14-2 to the Tigers when the teams met back in August of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Douglas County saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Devayah Pineda, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Douglas County now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Lakewood, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Douglas County will host Dakota Ridge at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lakewood, they will face off against Rock Canyon at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
