Baseball Recap: Winnfield Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Winnfield duked it out with Ruston on Thursday. The Winnfield Tigers lost 17-7 to the Ruston Bearcats.

Payden Parker was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Logan Brister was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

Winnfield now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Ruston, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-6.

Winnfield wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 16-0 victory against Mansfield on the 7th. Ruston has also already played their next game (against North DeSoto), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
