Baseball Recap: General Brown Victorious

General Brown proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by seven) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They never let the Holland Patent Golden Knights get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Lions have posted since April 17th.

Not much got past Jackson Ward, who gave up just a hit and racked up 12 Ks to keep Holland Patent off the board. Ward has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, General Brown secured the victory behind a pair of hitters. One of them was Ben Clement, who went 1-for-4 with one RBI.

The win got General Brown back to even at 9-9. As for Holland Patent, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.
